Thanks! I was looking at those and trying to figure out how the clips engaged. I didn't want to buy a couple of sensors before I found the right one! That's exactly the plan I was thinking of regarding the warning light. Cheers, Mel

Sure enough! It's got the float. I'm assuming they complete a ground circuit, similar to the parking/ebrake? Any advice on a model that works with these "D" shaped tunnels? The ones I'm seeing have a set of clips on the far end of the sensor but my tunnel doesn't go all the way through...

The adapters are BrakeQuip brand, from Olympic 4x4 up in Snohomish. I don't frequent NAPA too often because I find most of their prices to be inflated but I ordered that MC at 11 AM and they had it shipped in from the Seattle distribution center by 4 PM the same day. Not sure if the casting...

I've been working indoors these last few days with the cold weather we're having. I'm starting to bend the new brake lines for around the MC and airpacks. I have 2 axle ends left and a bunch of tires to change, I'm slowly breaking them down and cleaning up the rims. I found a reference in a...

I got about half the dome light install completed this week after it got too dark to work on the wheel bearings. My deuce doesn't have the front center holes for the cab top, so it's currently not fully bolted down. I also need to do the wiring. I may go ahead and install a 24v to 12v 800w...

Thanks! Its certainly a labor of love. My wife isn’t convinced that it’s a good idea, but idle hands or something like that!

Got the drivers side axle u joint replaced and the whole side put back together. I didn’t have any leftover parts so it must be okay!

While waiting on the U-joints to arrive, which will be today!, I worked on a different project. I'm working on improving nighttime visibility of the truck and so have put reflectors on the front bumper but I also wanted to have something the sides of the truck at the front. I bought some...

Trying to use that GI Bill to complete my Degree in IT Management, it'll hopefully help me at my actual job... though with as many hours as I'm spending working on the deuce, my wife might say that it's my real job!.. We should definitely find some time to drool over trucks.. err I mean hang...

I've been slowly working on getting the old gal back up and running. Between work and night-college, I'm busy! Got the drivers side torn apart and mostly cleaned out. I'm sandblasting and repainting pretty much everything that needs it becuase it was a mess of rust in there. I know i should...

I used my sandblaster on the first airpack, wanted to see what the electrolysis would do. it was definitely easier!

I started bending brake lines for the front axle last night. Hoping to start tearing apart front hubs this week to clean/inspect/replace wheel cylinders, replace front boots, and repack wheel bearings. I also played with using electrolysis to clean up a slave cylinder.

Thanks! I wish I'd have known that before I ordered two new switches. :/ The SMARPI for dual-circuit still notes using the hydraulic stop switches. I did find the PSMAG sheet on updating and have ordered the kits from Eriks. I did find that there is a small conical rubber oring between my...

Got the first airpack rebuilt finally. I ended up going with 80 grit glass media from HF , changing from 12 grit walnut shell that HF also sells. It works much better. I also installed an inline desiccant dryer at the sandblasting cabinet to help with media clumping...

The Centipede aka my new 1988 m35a2c

I've begun work on rebuilding my brake system, much to my wife's dismay when she viewed the receipts for parts and tools. I bought a cheapo sandblasting cabinent at HF. I figured it'd be a good start for $112. I've already ordered a new gun, the one in the kit sucks. (or rather it doesn't...

I got a chance to briefly troubleshoot my dash Brake light this morning. It illuminates if I have the parking brake set, but did not illuminate during complete brake failure. I do have a dual circuit MC. I took the wire off of the proportioning valve and determined it's a ground type system...

The cylinder head wrench I made to disassemble the heads turned out to be perfectly in line vertically. I used it this weekend to reinstall the heads after changing out the head gaskets. I should have gotten more photos but while it was apart I went ahead and installed spin on adapters from...
