    I seem to remember 7256 and 7256d as the part numbers

    Thanks for that. I did not think any batteries today still came with acid. It used to be common.
    MVPA member. 1974 M35A2C w/w "Queen Lola", rebuilt LDS-465-1A, "D" turbo, Waterloo Overdrive upgrade. Med towbar, 11.00R20 Goodyear G286, flipped hubs, remote brake fluid reservoir, spin-on filters, bypassed FDC, LED taillights, LED headlights, LED turn signals, WESTACH EGT/boost gauge, AVM lockout hubs, LED convoy light, LED lollipop lights, HMMWV seat on air ride base, M211 dash passenger grab handle, hood lift kit, 24V solargizer/battery minder, ether start kit, flasher module mod, heavy duty dog bone ends, M35A3 aluminium fuel tank.

    There was a NSN for batteries, with acid overpacked in the boxes, and a NSN for batteries without acid. Some units only ordered without acid, and kept 30 gallon metal containers of acid on hand. Or half gallon containers in plastic bags, in cardboard boxes. I liked the half gallon containers best, for ease of handling. Storage was the problem. Hazmat is a PITA.

    I seem to remember each one took .5 gallon as I recall filling 2 of them with 1gallon of acid. "Zero" would know these things and perhaps Jatonka.

    As stated in post #5 the capacity of each is 8 quarts.
