I have not been on this forum for a long time so please excuse me if what I post is redundant. I got one of the first auction Marine Corp M998s some years ago. The paint was faded but not many gouges or scratches, etc. I wet sanded wearing nitrile gloves, then marked the pattern with chalk, primed and painted with Rapco spray cans. Still looks good but garaged since. I also did a M1109 and M1008 the same way. My grandson has the Blazer in Nebraska and it still looks ok. I have a 1994 H1 that has CARC paint, semigloss, and it looks amazing for its age. I guess I would say if you are going to keep your vehicle forever go with CARC substitute.

I would do what richdane reply 54 did. I dry sanded my HMMWV in my garage with zero respiratory protection 15 years ago and I'm still kickin'.
The isocyanates are bad when the paint is uncured.
my buddy felt the same way. Now he has prostate cancer. Just sayin’.

Also, doesn’t this belong in the paint and restoration section?
