i have a kit that solves this issue, but it costs a little more than dw58's idea. as an extra added bonus it makes driving a deuce a real pleasure.

It a hydraulic power steering set up that he is talking about. That is in the future though. Why is it not recommended for highway use? Liability?

do you mean it is in the future for you? it has been available for almost a year now, special price for SS members, see classified ad. website shows higher price by about $400

Power steering also makes for a safer vehicle.

I had some trail time at Haspin last week.
Steering feedback on rough dirt roads is still harsh. I got a nice friction burn on the back of my left hand from the steering wheel. Gloves would have been a better choice than the damper.
A second damper could be added but there would be increased steering effort as well.
I think I'll leave it as is.
Anyone else have any feedback on damper installs?

Ditto on the gloves. I find that wearing gloves on long trips with my Dodge PU or running the 813 or Deuce makes it much better. Firmer grip on the wheel on if it does decide to turn quickly it won't singe my hands.
