Got a new Knuckle boot, no zipper sealer, now what do i do?

I've got a front axle knuckle boot that I think needs replacing. Not a serious problem as of yet, the boot is not torn, it just looks like the boot pulled out of the inner clamp.

Just to be on the safe side I ordered a new boot, inner and outer clamp from Saturn (thank got for our supporters!) Well, I got the boot and clamps, but no sealer for the zipper. So what should i use for the zipper sealer? My first thought is to use some silicon adhesive sealant on the zipper. Will this work, or do I need some sort of special sealer for the zipper?

I used Permatex Ultra Black Silicone. If you apply it to both sides of the zipper after it's zipped up, it seals very well.
