I did check TH400 Knocking Noise - Steel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite but the situation I am observing with my M1009 might be different... maybe not.

The truck has a rattle (like bolts in a coffee can) under throttle and sometimes coasting but the sounds seem to be directly underneath the driver seat area, which makes me think trans related. The trans is still original (TH400) and has been working normally up until this week.

It seems to accelerate with the regular torque/strength but the noise comes and goes at random.

It is currently raining in GA so I wont be under the truck until later but any known issues/starting points would be helpful once I can get a dry look at it.

Thanks

aua always posting with ?s about how broke my M1009 is... :deadhorse:

sounds like flywheel bolts have come out. Happened to me and made a terrible noise, just pull that plate underneath and they may fall out into your hand. if so check the teeth and make sure they did not get broken by the bouncing bolts.
