Suddenly had an issue where no start/no power. Pulled off over for battery switch - have 24 v and 12 v on back side of switch and those voltages going into the disconnect relays - but on 2.5 volts coming out the 24V relay. How does that relay get signal power - and does this mean that relay needs replaced?

It is a special type latching relay, so commanded on and commanded off by signals from the dash switch and LBCD. Remove it, and the busbars connecting it to the output of the manual switch, pull the 12 and 24 wires from the inboard side(may have to find some slack in the wiring) and connect them to the output terminals on the manual switch and go on about your business… The main purpose of that relay was to allow the LBCD to disconnect an overloaded alternator from dead/failed batteries…

Yes the dual latching disconnect relay is a POS. I put a brand new Busmann revised edition in my truck and it got stuck recently trying to go from the off to the on state. I removed it and smacked it with a dead blow and it started working again. They were kind of hot garbage and especially if they are old version with exposed wires - those were awful. The new one is enclosed but if you don't use it regularly (and maybe even if you do) they F right off and will gladly steal a couple hours of your day if you aren't prepared.

Welcome to lowest bidder island. We're all suffering together.
