I had a starter go out on my 1009, could not find a locally available 24 volt starter. I decided to go 12 volt to make my vehicle a little more common on parts availability.I am almost finished with the project, waiting to pick up my new cables. My question is this: I am an anti-clutter freak when it comes to wiring, has anyone took the time to remove all the wiring that gets "insulated & taped back against the harness" during the 12 volt conversion? Any problems or recommendations? I am two fold on my desire to remove the not needed wiring: 1. My already mentioned desire for order under the hood. 2. I think it would make tracing wiring during other diagnostics easier ( i.e., when searching for a wire on the side of the road at night, trying to figure out is this part of the active or inactive wiring?)
