I was looking for some helpful info for my 5 ton. What is everybody using for batteries in their machines. Also what brand, CCA's, and any other helpful tips. Also the coolant. What ratio is recommended 50/50 , 70/30 , 60/40, and a good maker. I always use distilled water so I would just like to know what brand type of coolant. Thanks. Keepem rollin.

I use the big mil battery's in my deuce. They seem to hold up well, a little $$

For the coolant, you might want to look into Evans NPG (non-propylene glycol) antifreeze. Goes in straight, 100%, but it will never react with metals in the coolant system, has a 500,000-mile life span, and never needs changing. A little pricey, but once again, it will be the last time you change your antifreeze.

Batteries - Optima makes some of the best batteries out there. Once again, pricey, but they are excellent batteries, and are 100% sealed, you can mount them upside-down even and they won't leak.

I bought 4 group 65's from napa 1000, CA and they seem to work well, but you will need to make new hold downs in the box.
