1995 Hmmwv won't move in reverse

I have a 1995 Humvee with the older style transmission, no Park, only 1, 2, D, N and R and no transmission control module. The other day it just stopped going in reverse. The shifter will easily go in reverse but no power to make the vehicle move. For a while I was able to get a little reverse by putting it in L but even that work around stopped working. I have changed the transmission fluid and filter. Adjusted the shifter cable but still no movement in reverse. If I am on an incline and put it in reverse it will slowly go in reverse due to the incline.

She works fine in all the other gears going forward.

Does anyone have any other suggestions aside from a total transmission rebuild.

1. Low fluid level.
2. Shift linkage loose, misadjusted or dam-
aged.
3. Reverse servo fault:
• misassembled
• Piston or seal damage
4. Rear band fault:
• wrong band apply pin
• Band worn
5. Direct clutch fault:
• worn, damaged clutch plates
• check ball leaking or missing
6. Overdrive roller clutch failure.
7. Valve body fault:
• manual valve stuck, damaged
• Pressure switch failure

3 ) Re the reverse servo. Is this something that can be replaced without taking the transmission out?

4) what is the rear band?

5 and 6) I assume that means taking the transmission out

7) I looked that one up can this be changed without removing the transmission?

There are some videos on YouTube with people having success but I have no experience with this, look up the 3l80 transmission no reverse vids
