24 volt Distributor springs

I've serviced my 24 volt dizzy and have ordered new springs for the advance weights as mine seem to be more curly wire bits than spring. It looks like the pair of springs are different from each other!! I'm hoping one of you fine people can confirm this is correct and if so is there a particular ' side' they fit?. I can't see that one weight is any different from the other so the springs can go on iether one and I'm guessing the different springs are to tune the advance curve. Any advice would be greatly appreciated ..cheers

It has been several years since I've rebuilt any M37 24V distributors, but I do recall that they had one lighter advance weight spring and one heavier advance weight spring.

It's very common for the centrifugal advance springs in a distributor to have different spring rates from each other in order to shape/optimize the advance curve for a particular engine.
