5 ton horn question

How does the 5 ton horn button work? I can't see anywhere it's grounded. Is one side of the solenoid hot all the time? Odd circuitry.

Ground side switched thru the column. Constant hot all the time. Spring in the wheel hits ground and completes the circuit. Usually it's a bad diode and the horn is on constantly

Is the spring visible when you remove the horn button? If so, I don't see one. I assume the horn circuit has to do with the box that is screwed to the bottom of the steering column? If so, it was unplugged and when I plugged it in, nothing.

There is a wire on a little metal piece inside the wheel that should ground it to the shaft. The bottom connector just takes the ground from the shaft to the harness. The spring is under the black button that is what pushes it back up.

Probably lots of rust in there
You can also directly ground that wire at the bottom of the steering shaft to see if the horn will actually function before chasing all this down
