Do you know your production and/or rebuild dates? Could be a running change during production or a mod from overhaul.

My M295A2 is just like your 931. The only reason that I could think why the m936 has a carrier bearing on the driveline was because the front end tends to get light when towing and the driveshaft might hit the crossmember below it.

Oooooh, I'd love to get one of those carrier-bearing front driveshafts! That would allow me to tuck the crossmember up a little higher...
