I want to modify the deuces I have with the 90 degree mod to the intake pipe, to prevent rain water from entering the intake. I remember seeing a few SSers post pics of their rides with this mod. Where can I get the correct 90 degree pipe for this application? I've seen really wide turn pipes that look kinda dumb. I want mine to be a short-radius pipe that is close to the hood, and doesn't hang out too far.

So Jeff, I take it that means you sold it?

Sorry you had to do that. I am very fortunate to have a place to play with mine.

I know it's an old thread, but did the military ever recommend or "approve" this mod?

Does it really make a difference as far as what its intended purpose is, or is it just one of those things that we think works better?

It looks practical.

I got mine at the local NAPA store. I had issues with it sucking snow off the fender, so I opted for the 90° elbow. Besides, I just like the look of it that way. The hood opens just fine with it. Military option? I dunno...just call it a "field modification".
