You can use standard CB coax with a PL-259 to a BNC connector to use your CB !! If you use your CB use the MS-118, MS-117, MS-116 and the GR/24 sections for your Antenna whip and try and get it about 106 inches before you connect it to the base . After connecting the whip your antenna should be close to 110 inches. Radio scraps has the PL-259 to BNC connector in the store .

Yup - looking for an easy way to run a CB. Found several threads on the topic and the use of MS-xx and AB-xx mast sections to get proper length. Could not find any info on the AB-558 base which looks like it should bolt up to the standard M1009 antenna mount.

Thanks and best regards.

Well the ab-558 will work with the standard sugar scoop or the cucv side mount with the adapter plate. But you will want to get the pl-259 to bnc connector to use cb coax.

(1) So the AB-558 is not a direct fit to the CUCV side mount? Is it a bolt circle or center hole misfit?

(2) Happen to know the p/n of the adapter plate? Do you have a spare one in your back pocket?

Already have the std CUCV mounts and ought to stay with them.

Thanks again

Good Luck ..
