accessory mounted with air pump

Has anyone every mounted an accessory like an extra alternator or ac compressor off of the air compressor drive belt, I thought about it for a alternator at one time, but gave up and put it next to the other alt. I also wanted to some day put a hydraulic pump off the front for power steering. I then thought maybe I could route the belt around the pump with an idler around the pump. Any Ideas-comments, or am I still just crazy.
