i keep going through alt belts on #2 alt, all seems to line up, alt in good condition, new pully ect. any ideals?

How much tension are you putting on the belt?

just snug about 1/4 in flex

I just replaced an alt belt on my K20 recently and found that the upper bolt was stripped out and letting the alternator move under load. I drilled that hole out and ran a bolt through with a nut on the back to fix that one. It just makes it harder to adjust the tension by yourself.
The other thing I noticed on the package for the new belt, it says to run it for 5 minutes then re-tension when it is first installed.
