Does anyone know if a tach that uses the alt take off and says "Has 4/6/8/A/B alternator settings." would work with a cucv?

Yes go to Faria web site they have all the info you need ect.. BTW I used a mech. pickup from humvee and a tach from one got it all new for 110 bucks

I have the pick ups from the hummers if anyone needs one for a tach drive.

How so the hummer ones work? Don't they go where the vac pump is?
This is an alternator interface module for diesel engines from Dakota Digital
Universal Diesel Alternator Tachometer Interface
That's all you need (plus a tach of course) to put any tach you want in your truck. I have seen it installed, functional and accurate in an M1008 CUCV using a stock GM Tachometer.

Someone needs to figure out how to get the signal from the tach buffer which is used in the diagnostic system. The STE-ICE could tell you the RPMs, so there is a signal there that just needs to be tapped.
