Nice videos, unfortunately I've never seen a B17 live. A great book about the subject I can recommend is "The wrong stuff" by Truman Smith, who gives a great account on those hairy missions they flew over Germany in WW2.

Cheers,
Mark

No offence taken ;-)
Our family was bombed out of Stuttgart, and I still recall my Grandmothers stories from the airraids. She said that when they fled to relatives 30 kilometers away from Stuttgart the earth was shaking so badly during the raids that things fell out of the shelves in the homes. She also recalled the noise of the motors, which must have been awfully loud and scary.
I'm rather fortunate though that none of my ancestors didn't meet the business end of one of the bombers, otherwise I wouldn't sit here contemplating.

Cheers,
Mark
