Block Heater location marked with a painted "X" ?

Was thinking of installing a block heater in my 6.5 gep engine. Seems that the center plug on the driver side is a typical location. That plug has a painted "X" over it.

Anyone else seen this? Not sure if this was a mark to say "Put it here" or something else.

Any ideas?
