Cab bushings (mounts)

So, my cab mounts look like they're original or decayed enough to appear that way. Finding new mounts isn't difficult, but I've modified my cab, above the doorline and it is much, much heavier than the original cab - probably around 10x heavier.

I was thinking of doubling up the front cab mounts then ordering a second set of front mounts, modifying them and adding to beef up the back mounts to keep everything equal height. The extra weight must add more squish value to the original mounts, though probably not double. Should I shave down the additional mounts that I add, or just leave them as is - does it matter?

Thoughts?

Are the pics of the old mounts with the extra weight? They seem to be handling it fine.

Adding extra joints of the same compression rate puts them all at very high elongation. Maybe you should look for a stiffer material instead?
