i understand that if u want to change out the condensor u have to take out the plate over the distributor,i see 2 screws that hold it together .dont want to mess anything up if i do this.to get to the screw that holds the condensor it looks like this is a must.my question is is this an easy task?

Assuming you have the waterproof distributor, remove the 6 screws that hold the cover on. The you will see the condenser there, it is held on with a small screw, don't let that screw fall down into the advance underneath. You will have to loosen the nut on the stud where the wire connects with a small open end wrench.
