contact body weight

Well, after a coupla months of trying to sell my contact body, I am going to end up scrapping it. Aluminum is pretty good price right now, so does anybody have an idea how much the bare shell would weigh?? Just looking for a general idea, unless someone knows exactly.

Well, today I answered my own question. 860 lbs at the scrapyard, sold for .45 cents a pound = $387.00. Just thought i'd post in case anyone else needed to know.

Sad to see it go that way but we can't save all of them. Was it the one with the Hobart or PTO generator? Just curious. I know you said it was stripped when you scrapped it.

It was the one with the Hobart. I PM'ed him about it a few weeks ago.

Well i say good for him he got what he wanted money .... Like me i bought a 1010 for the truck did not know it was a 9 foot frame when bought it just tok body off put flat bed on and work it from there plow snow haul tow offroad dailydrive and so on ... So i say he put it up for sale no bites no nothing so srpe it money to pay for truck.....

I did try to sell for the last two months, no takers. I had the body at my employers and had to get rid of it.

7840 with a few tools on board total...imagine the weight with a full contact set!
