CUCV II speed beeper at 65 mph and above - anyone have this happen?

My CUCV II is a 1999 Tahoe 2 door CUCV II Type A. Been working on it for the last two months to become my daily driver.

Tonight, I take it on the interstate for its 70 mph "shake-out" run for the first time. I've driven to town a couple of times, but those speeds were on 55 mph and slower roads...

Now, on I-65 and upon reaching 65 mph, a "beeping" sound starts and seems to be left of the instrument cluster. When I dropped speed below 65 mph, it stops - as soon as I hit exactly 65 mph, it starts up and stays beeping till the speed gets below 65 mph.

This has to be a "speed reminder" device to soldiers who drove these back in the day...???

Anyone know of this?

Taking a 3 hour interstate trip this Sunday and I have to locate it and disable it...!!!

Here is what i saw. No clue if this is accurate. My truck does not have this activated.
Wow, sure looks to be exactly my "issue"...

I've had the speedo apart to replace a stepper motor (mph was reading way too high...) and switched out an inop tripmeter ("donor" was from a 1999 Suburban parts truck I have). Currently speedo reads 2-3 mph too high (with stock sized tires), so that's as close as I can get it...

I'll pull my instrument cluster and look for that and report back.

Thanks NDT!!!
