Do you need to filter????

I have been given 4 cases of ATF that is brand new.....and I can get more....for free(!)

Do I need to filter it first or can I dump it right into the tank on my deuce?

If diesel gets anymore expensive....it might make sense to buy motor oil by the quart at walmart!
