My deuce has a 33 with a sideways T. I've seen several others at different auctions around the country that have the same "33" with a sideways "v". Anybody know the significance?

Unit designations maybe? In the Gulf War (the first one) armored units would put a v, ^, <or> on their sides, so that far-off US aircraft/helicopters and other ground vehicles could easily see that your vehicle was, first of all, American, and second, that you belonged to such-and-such unit, without writing the official name of such-and-such unit on the vehicle.
