I've always given them a measurement from center of yoke to center of yoke. The yokes will have to be disassembled for them to machine it. What I'd do is disassemble the yokes, temporally bolt the flanges back into place, and get a overall measurement from center of yoke to center of yoke. That seems to be the measurement most shaft shops want. They will know to allow for slip joint movement.

Just measure from the flange on the axle to the flange on the transfer case, the shop will know what length to make it based on that overall distance.

The big question is, Where is the slip yoke? Is it fully extended or fully compressed? Better make shure you have room both ways so you dont run into problems.

Like was said, Dissasemble the joints, bolt the yokes on and mesure the distance from the centers of the u-joint holes with them parallel to the ground. Take that mesurment and your shaft to the biulder and he will know what to do.

bolt the flange on the drive shaft to the transfer case and the other end to the rear end and then measure from the center of the u joint to the other center of the other u joint . With that measurement your drive line shop will know what you want . take him your slip joint also .

Call Jesse at High Angle Driveline. He has made all of my Deuce shafts. Does a bang up job for cheap. Measure from flange mount to flange mount. That was all I've ever needed to do.
