Finally got around to taking her to a welder. It ain't pretty, but it's stronger than stock. Actually, it is kinda pretty.

driver side alternator belts

Cucvrus is right with the belts Both my M1028A1 and MY M 1009 have that setup. I will post pictures .. or a video .. I have a video of my M1028A1 running and you can see the driver side alt clearly but I don't want you guys to hear my voice...

Belts are on. No squealing. Everything seems to be good so far.
Now on to my leaky oil cooler lines...
(that's a job for another thread.)
