i went out for my first summer drive and my fairly new motor has been running great ,kept it at 40 to 45 for about 12 miles temp around 170.thought i would take her to 50 mph and i noticed the temp guage slowly went to 220 so i pulled over .plenty of water.in the radiator when it cooled i would limp her back home.once i got there i notices a clattering noise in the top end of the motor.and it is hard to start .idles fine but a rattling noise once i give it gas .i am not a mechanic so i am looking for advice as to what to do or look for .i thought 50 mph was pushing it but not to the extreme of breaking something.help please thanks jack

50-55 mph is well with the safe rpm range for that engine. Check your valve adjustment is where I would start, next inspect the spark plug condition for telltale signs of problems.

Well thank you for the input on my engine noise. Had a friend come by and look at it and found to be that the dipstick was rattling inside the dipstick tube. Now there are two dip sticks .me ,and the one on the Jeep. The noise went away every time we took the dipstick out of the tube. Thank you for all of your help you guys are awesome and always there for us who aren't as knowledgeable on these Jeeps
