Almost done with my 4l80 upgrade, but I am using the hummer h1 ESS which goes in the oil pump drive (been told it works, hoping it does). In the off chance that it doesn't work I'd like to have a backup using the original system, with the ESS on the timing chain.
So what parts do I need to replace on the 6.2 to convert to the ESS of a 6.5?
ESS itself and the little harness, new timing chain, new cover with bung?
As for the use of the hummer h1 ESS, I am using a computer and transmission out of a 2003 h1, so I was thinking it would all work together with the hummer ESS.

Site says it was meant to feed the TCM... however I don't make a habit of putting my faith in a product's description.

It sends a 4 pulse per 1 cam revolution to the TCM as a RPM reference signal used to control line pressure, shift point and firmness, and TCC lockup. This sensor is mounted on top of the oil pump drive mech on the rear center of engine."
On the off chance the ESS doesn't work what will it effect? I have a picture showing it would only mess with the TCC lockup (since the tranny has a input speed sensor?)
