I apologize in advance if this in the wrong place.

Long story short I found GovPlanet by accident the other night. I have wanted one of these monsters my whole life.

I also found out they have a background check for obvious reasons .. overseas sales ISIS flunkies ect.

Will a felony conviction bar me from purchasing a Humvee?
I did time when I was younger.

I dont see why having a felony will keep you from obtaining one if they supply isis with em free of charge you should be good. You should call Govplanet and ask them if you can buy one and post what they say so we all know the answer.

Nothing in the euc process asks about any criminal background. If you are a US citizen and intend on keeping the vehicle in the US then there is no reason for you to be denied.

I don't think you will have a problem. You may(probably not) have trouble picking up they do a wants and warrants search at military installations. If you are on some list or DDed out it may be tough. I think they just do a wants and warrants search of who you are to see if you are to be held. Good luck! I hope you get one.

I read this: Presuming the individual in question has served their time for the felony and is currently not on a felony want or warrant list, DoD physical access policy (Directive-type Memorandum 09-012) does not prohibit a convicted felon from accessing the base, escorted or unescorted," officials with the Office of the Secretary of Defense told us in a statement.

GP reps have told me convicted felons were turned away at the gate for pickups and had to use a local tow service to get their item off base.

Generally speaking a felony will not prohibit you from getting EUC clearance. Unless it involves violating ITAR, or illegally trafficking arms. I've asked TSC this question before.

AMC is correct, being a Felon does not automatically mean you will not be approved for an EUC. As far as military installations go, everyone of them is different. That is why we try to include as much information (who/What/When) as possible on your item release. With that said however, it is not 100% ground truth. After 2 decades in the Army, I will tell you (Just like at the DMV) it all depends on the time of day, what gate, and who is running the gate and what mood they are in on whether or not you are getting on post. Obviously if it is on one of our storage lots, that issue is a moot point.
