My fan blade has a crack in it. My gut tells me either the design was bad, the material was flawed, manufacturing process was flawed, or something struck it. I don’t see any witness marks elsewhere to suggest it was struck or impacted. Anyone have good intel on cracking fan blades?

I think @wheelspinner had two good takeoffs listed yesterday.
Might be the fastest and simplest way to go...

Hate to say it, but plastic in the engine bay is going to give up eventually.
Fixing it sooner than later would be smart. To protect that radiator!

There are two different types of fans and clutch units. Check if it's the old style or new style

. Plastic cracks. Nothing abnormal about it when it's 20yrs or older.

I agree. I’ve been talking to wheelspinner. I’m
Just curious as to what makes these crack. I would like to believe that the cause was discovered and corrected long ago. We had a similar issue with M1A1 road wheel hub sight glasses. Put virtually every tank on the deadline report!
