honestly though.... well before seeing this have considered something similar.
. Batts on back end of truck (or side)
. pull straps/cables attached to slide out batt rack and rack release that go under camper to opposite side
. Anderson? connector at end of power lead from bats also placed opposite side so can be disconnected not near fire

Eject**
. disconnect anderson connector(s)
. eject the pull straps/cables thru flame to opposite side..... (not sure how to eject them though*)
. run around to opposite where batt fire is ..... grab straps/cables and run like mad to yank them hard pulling the battery bank(s) out away from rig. (or pulleys and shove shaft so you can yank pull from opposite side.

* idea hit me while writing this post. found an example on youtube.
** could use pulleys and a shove bar so could pull from opposite side too keeping folk further from fire.

Con's
. I overthink about things too much
. best is batteries at very back or of rig cause the eject is more liable to go toward open space of road/ path you are traveling..... unless you got rear ended.
... more common accident in slow vehicles is getting rear ended
... if your hauling on motorcycle or ?? etc on a rear rack.. now that is on fire too so FUBAR
