I am posing a question about my 1953 m38A! fuel sender. I removed the old one that was broken, I bought a new one online .the new one is a exact copied and 24 volt. I also just bought a new gas tank and painted it. My question is the single wire to the sender seams fine. Do I need to some how ground the tank to the frame? or try to run a ground wire from the sender? or is no grounding needed? Need help, Also the dash gauge seems fine. Thanks for any replys.

I would run a second ground wire from the sender to the gauge to eliminate the bad ground possibility. Both the gauge and the sender need to be properly grounded for the system to work.
