I recently bought an off grid house and am trying to tie in a generator with a transfer switch. I wired the transfer switch according to schematic with all the neutrals tied together and all the grounds tied together and only switching the hot legs. I floated the neutral on the generator and when I plug it in it just blows the gfi I tried rewiring it to switch the neutrals and and tying the neutral an ground back in on the generator and same result no matter what I try. even tried bonding the generaterror chassis to the house ground rod and same result. Currently running a champion portable then later will wire in my Mep-003a once I get conduit trenched in and a shed built

Need a bit more info. Look at the GFCI as it came with a small schematic. Helps to see what this model is sensing between what. Best to set things up according to your local Electric code in the house. Neutral to ground connections change state and even within a state. Now open all the smaller breakers to everything. No power, start checking the breaker box. A neutral to ground connection on an outlet someplace can cause what you are seeing. Took me a while but I found this in my house in the Kitchen. Fixed the neutral there and all better. A short in an outlet from phase to either N or G will also do it. If you have a busted wire from an outlet and you have only phase and ground and you use a 3 prong plug on a power supply for example will also do this. Sorry for the bad news but best to start checking.
