Governor air brake compressor LMTV 1078

Good morning everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this topic. This morning I had a problem filling the air tanks because air was constantly leaking from a valve on the brake air compressor governor. I'm not sure if the valve is the problem or if it's a safety feature for another issue. Can anyone help me?
P.S.: This part isn't listed in the TM manual.

That is simply a wobble cap vent(NPT to hose barb fitting with a brass cap loosely crimped over it to keep insects/debris out) that vents the governor housing. That second pic appears to be the inboard side of the governor? if you unscrew the plastic plug on the forward end that will get you access to the governor adjuster screw? if so the governor front seal is probably shot(leaking past the adjust screw/piston seal) and you need a new governor...

The governor is a consumable. They are ~$20. Get a new one from Haldex. Prefer them over Bendix personally. They are necessarily subject to unfiltered and undried air directly from the drier so they tend to need replaced every few years. The rust and corrosion particulate tends to score up the aluminum bore. You just send them to China to make beer cans.

Thanks Ronmar, I will eventually follow your advice and replace the entire governor, especially since there is no repair kit available.

If you can't easily source one in Italy - take it apart and replace the o-rings and grease them with some silicone grease. Will probably work better for a while. You can likely find a similar o-ring from an assortment or hydraulic shop.
