Help getting custom wheels

I could use some sage advise and knowledge regarding wheels for my M43. I set out to upgrade my newly aquired family member by purchasing a set of slightly used 39.5 inch super swamper radial tires, which should fit snug under the truck. I have run into a frustrating snag. I can not find a set of cheap 16x10 inch steel wheels to have the centers cut and correct patteren welded in. If I purchase new wheels ($250 set) and fabrication work for the centers ($500), I would have about $750 into the wheels and run the risk of an out-of-round wheel. I can purchase a custom set from Stockton Wheel for about $1000.
I am trying to put as large of a tire as I can without chopping into or lifting this truck. Please help with any info on wheels and tires for these wonderful old trucks. Thanks in advance. Tim
PS- I am open to suggestions regarding any larger tire and wheel setups.

39.5" shouldn't be too tall. I have had 42.4" 9.00-20 Firestones on my 4x4 and they ran great. I now have 11.00-16 Michelins on both the 4X4 and the M37 6X6 and they are right 38.5 inches tall. There are tubless 16 inch wheels available for around 140 apiece but getting hold of the fellow who makes these is difficult. The wheels are not 10 inches wide though. I have a set I'll see if I can post a pic.

JUST PLAIN OLD WHEELS! Anyone know of civilian truck wheels that will fit the M37 correctly, like with proper offset?? I would like to mount LT315-75R16 radials.

Well, I don't know what plain old wheels are, but marsh makes them to your specs for under 150.
