Anyone who might be able to discuss a problem with a Humvee 6.5 Turbo that we are commuting from Arizona to Michigan? It was running great all the way to Northern Utah. Soon after it began blowing so.e amount of black smoke. I've looked at the turbo and rest of the exhaust, air filter and fuel lines. Fuel filter had a small amount of sand in the reservoir but I managed to dump it out. The truck is low hours on the meter. Other than the Arizona heat it was maintaining 60 to 65 mph. Im currently near Green River Utah. Hoping for someone who has any ideas. Thank you in advance. JOSH

Is it intermittent or constant, they are bad about plugging the CAT, that will cause excessive smoke and loss of power.
An intake restriction can do the same but the intake filter is so large that rarely happens.
ALSO I have heard that it might be possible to cram the intake mushroom down so far it restricts airflow

It was missing the cross exhaust pipe from turbo to the rest of the exhaust. Im now thinking that maybe the usmc had a problem with it
