HMMWV hand trottle install question

I am bidding on a complete hand throttle assy to install in my M1008. I have seen a cpl of posts while looking around and see that others have used this option. My question is this, from the pictures on the auction site it looks like the cable is not long enough to reach from inside the cab to the injector pump. For those of you that have done this, where do you hook the end of the cable too? I could run it down to the gas peddle and pick it up that way but I dont really like that idea. I have thought I could go to the local bike shop and have a custom made shifter/brake cable made up and join the two together, thats the big idea of the moment. Can anyone give me a description or post some pics of their setup? Thanks alot!

Thanks for the replys, I had seen the posts your referenced in your replys but they didnot address the question I had about length of cable.
Gimpyrob, I have a bid in now so I gota wait but if I get outbid, Ill hit you up, do you have the complete kit w/ brackets and all or just the cable?
