Hole in Plastic Air Line

Hey all,

While using a cutting torch on my 5th wheel removal project, someone got a little aggressive and some liquid metal put a small hole in one of my plastic air lines. Is it acceptable to cut it cleanly at the hole and simply reconnect with a push connect? I assume I’d meet a DOT approved one…

Also, are these standard sizes? 3/8?

Thanks in advance

.
Need to get a DOT Certified connector.
I would get it from a truck stop or truck parts supplier.

Yep, a dot cert push-lock or back to back compression fittings should be acceptable. Although the line is not horrifically expensive, so replacement is probably not all that much more effort…

Also if you're in a pinch and just needed to get it from the back 40 up to your shop, I have used an expendable screwdriver before heated it up smeared the plastic around and sealed the hole .
