What is the round plate located on the front driver side of the XM211 hood for?

None of my manuals make referance of it. My M-211 has it also. A good guess would be an air intake for the heater box. I could be wrong but I seem to have seen it mentioned some where.

well..........I may just paint it yellow and add a smiley face. any other suggestions?

It is the cover for the heater inlet. Part number YT-2281322. A picture of the cover and its part number can be found in the M211 parts manual ORD 9 SNL G-749, P.393 and p.396. A copy is in the resources section.
