This may seem like a dumb question, but I searched and cannot find the answer.

On a truck that does not have the air engagement for front drive, how does it work exactly? Is it always engaged? Isn't this bad for road use?

I am about to pickup my truck tonite and realized I have no clue how the front drive operates.

Thanks guys!

No air shift means it's a sprag. Sprag is an automatic transfer case that engages automatically when the rears slip. However, in the real world they are known to fail. My advice would be to read up on the manuals and make sure it's (the sprag) is adjusted properly. Try googleing Sprag
