Hello!
How do you recommend successfully powering a 12 volt civilian trailer hooked up to our 24 volt systems? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the front or rear 12 pin trailer connector? I've read the E / 21 PIN is the power source. If I hooked that up to a 24V to 12V stepdown, would that allow the trailer lights to function from the cab? Could I remove the 21 PIN, wire it to a stepdown and then back into the connector? I would like to explore options before spending $355 or more on a plug and play adapter. Thank you.

On just your everyday basic trailer you only need four four wires .

1 left turn
2 right turn
3 marker lights
4 ground .

You can whip up your own pigtail for that in a half hour easy, as far as the voltage goes just switch your trailer bulbs over to LED, they don't care if it's 6 12 24 or 36 volt .
