IR LED Lights, Anyone have experience with these?

Looking to purchase Some IR Illumination and I've recently noticed some coming through surplus sales. They appear to be 3/4" in diameter and come with a control box for adjusting output. Multi LED circular units. I believe they were manufactured in Jacksonville NC. Any insight on the performance of these?
