i am looking at purchasing an 1008 but the ignition switch is snapped off so we don't know if it runs. is there a way to hot wire it? or is it easier to replace the ignition key switch in the steering column? how would you replace the ignition switch?

yea, run 12v to the pink wire on the top of the injector pump (that will energize the fuel shutoff)

if you go under the dash near the diagnostic port, there will be a silver relay. that is the starter relay. if you use two pieces of heavy gauge wire to jump the red wire to the purple wire, this bypasses the starter relay and should engage the starter. be carefull as the wires will spark and may get hot.

Are we talking the actual switch at the lower end of the column or the tumbler assy?
