1998 LMTV - I will crank the truck and it idles high. After running for 5 minutes or so try to stoke the fuel pedal thinking it will idle down. The temp hasn't gone up yet and then the "stop engine" light comes on. Its the first time for this light. I don't have a hi lo idle switch in this truck. I'm concerned about letting it idle high for too long. Any ideas?

Mechanical diesel, is the throttle linkage on top of the governor rotating fully so it is in contact with the low speed stop screw? A problem with the cable or pedal or return spring might be keeping it from setting against the low speed stop…

4 things make the master stop light come on, front air, rear air, 15PSI low oil pressure and the 230F engine over-temp switches. Hows the oil pressure on the gauge?
