Loose valave cover bolts and gaskets.

While trying to get some repairs doen to my non running deuce, I notcied every one of the valve cover bolts were lose. Is that common, or is there a reason for it. I thought maybe they just have a real light torque spec.

Also, it looks like the seals for the valve covers is a sealant and not a gaskets. Does some body sell actuall gaskets for the valve covers?

That is I specified it does not run. I thought that might be a factor. I do nto see any leaks though. At least not around the valve covers.

Memphis / Saturn? (or any of the other vendors) will get you fixed up. The valve cover gaskets are a very thick rubber (like the diameter of a pencil). You'll know them when you see one.
