Loaded up my 86 M1009 so full that the back window wasnt visible and drove from NW Ohio to Atlanta on Saturday. My wife, our two labs and I drove the I-75 south and averaged about 65 mph for the trip. I was really surprised how much torque the CUCV had going through TN... I blew some coal (i hope that black smoke wasnt bad) pushing the M1009 to almost 80 mph going up a long incline
No issues for the whole day either! a little oil in KY just for good measure
Anyway I have had my rig almost two years and the outside is thrashed but the truck has been a champ after getting some regular part updates. CUCVs are not perfect but for 24 years old I sure feel like mine is
