found a m1009 with 106000 miles on it according to the person selling it was wondering about the mpg and anything i should look out for(never had a diesel before) and its going to be my first CUCV and was wondering about any common problems with the trucks

I'm a new 1009 owner also and have never had a diesel. Still working to get mine fired up but I found a ton of info on this site by just looking around at the posts. Two places I would start are the sticky FAQ in this forum and the CUCV wiki WIKI - Steel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite. Both will give you an idea of the common issues, common repair checks/methods, etc.
