M1078 Alternator Parts source?

So, for some reason or other, the alternator in my otherwise running perfectly ex-Kuwait 1994 M1078 is missing the cooling fan. What's weird is that someone would've had to remove it and then bolt the guard back on - because there it sits. Bizarre. Was that something done in the sandbox to help stop alternator sand ingestion or some other mod I can't find any reference to?

Anyway, the missing part info is:

29 - Impeller, Niehoff P/N N9491 (NSN 4140-01-397-2228 )

If anyone has a dead Niehoff alternator they'd care to part out or knows of a commercial parts source that actually stocks stuff and replies to enquiries the same month you make them - let me know. Or if you know anything about a mod to remove the impeller...that'd be fun too.
